Authentic 59 TL

1959 marked the end of the legendary one-piece maple neck “Whiteguard” Telecaster era and the beginning of the rosewood “Slab Board” revolution. The pickups of the period underwent no significant construction changes compared to the immediately preceding years, yet their voice perfectly represents the meeting point between two iconic eras. For this reason, our Authentic 59 TL set stands out for its balanced tone and versatility: an airy and crystalline sound, ideal for enhancing the warmth of rosewood, with solid lows and a light natural compression capable of bringing out both the acoustic response and the snap of maple. The vintage-spec Alnico 5 rod magnets and hand-wound coils with Plain Enamel wire deliver all the dynamics and harmonic richness associated with the finest late-'50s Telecasters, from the expressive, vocal tones of Roy Buchanan to the definition and bite of Steve Cropper’s playing style.

Technical specifications:
• DC Resistance: approx. 7.1kOhm (neck), 6.6kOhm (bridge)
• Period-correct hand-beveled Alnico 5 rod magnets (.195" diameter) with vintage-spec charge
• Hand-wound with selected Plain Enamel wire to original specs
• Black vulcanized fiber bobbins
• Bridge pickup with period-correct copper-plated steel baseplate and cotton string wrap
• Neck pickup cover in deep-drawn brass
• Cotton-covered push-back leads
