Original 55 P-90

Mid-'50s P-90 pickups are distinguished by their rich, three-dimensional tone, capable of blending the crystal-clear dynamics of a single coil with the density typically associated with classic Gibson tone. Complex mids, solid low frequencies and a high end that remains clear yet smooth. For the Original 55 P-90, we use period-correct rough-cast Alnico 5 magnets with a calibrated charge, a butyrate bobbin, soft steel pole pieces and selected Plain Enamel wire. The result is an extremely touch-sensitive pickup, with a bold yet natural attack that allows you to easily control the transition from clean tones to amp breakup through playing dynamics.
